As a woodworking educator I focus on helping people get started safely, without spending a fortune. Most of today's woodworking focuses on expensive, dangerous machinery that beginners can't afford. I teach furniture making using hand tools that are quiet, safe, and affordable. My techniques come from extensive research into period furniture and the work of "country carpenters", craftspeople with limited tools and training who still made durable, beautiful furniture for themselves and their neighbors. By studying artisans of the past, we can do great work in a small space with limited tools and be proud of the things we make. If you're struggling on your woodworking journey, I can help.
